Temperature Maintenance
Temperature Maintenance
USE THE PROPER HEAT-TRACING CABLES TO MAINTAIN FLUIDS IN PIPES AT THE CORRECT TEMPERATURE.
NVENT RAYCHEM TEMPERATURE MAINTENANCE SOLUTIONS ARE IDEAL FOR COMMERCIAL APPLICATIONS THAT REQUIRE FLUIDS TO BE HEATED ABOVE AMBIENT TEMPERATURE, SUCH AS:
- Critical safety lines such as eyewash stations and safety showers. 2009 ANSI standards specify that the water temperature must be maintained between 60°F and 100°F.
- Specialized hot water supply lines such as commercial laundries or kitchens.
PROVEN TEMPERATURE CONTROL
HERE IS HOW RAYCHEM TEMPERATURE MAINTENANCE CABLES CAN IMPROVE OPERATIONS AS A WHOLE:
- Reliable and efficient controls: the combination of self-regulating heating cables and advanced control units offers proven performance and can save up to 30% of the energy used by ambient control systems.
- Safety: Comes with an integrated ground-fault protection to satisfy national electrical code requirements and an automatic self-test feature which ensures that the ground-fault circuits are intact.
- Cost savings: Eliminates congealing on the interior of the piping and avoids costly drain cleaning charges.
SIMPLE DESIGN
Our temperature maintenance cables can be installed on metal or plastic pipes and can be wrapped around valves and heat sinks. The self-regulating heat trace cables can also be installed above ground or on insulated buried pipes without over- or under-heating.
SELF-REGULATING TECHNOLOGY
- RAYCHEM self-regulating electric heat trace cables automatically adjust their power output to compensate for ambient or pipe temperature changes. Heat is generated as electric current passes through the conductive polymer core between the conductors. As the temperature drops, the number of electrical paths through the core increases and more heat is produced. Conversely, as the temperature rises, the core has fewer electrical paths and less heat is produced.
Tank Insulation
Tank Insulation
INDUSTRIAL TANK INSULATION SYSTEMS REDUCE THE AMOUNT OF HEAT LOST OR GAINED, KEEPING STORED LIQUIDS AT A CONSTANT TEMPERATURE WHILE MINIMIZING ENERGY USAGE.
TYPICAL APPLICATIONS INCLUDE:
- Thermal energy storage tanks
- Asphalt, crude and fire water tanks
- Beverage and fermentation tanks
INNOVATIVE TANK INSULATION DESIGN
- Reliable and efficient controls: the combination of self-regulating heating cables and advanced control units offers proven performance and can save up to 30% of the energy used by ambient control systems.
- They are custom made to fit the height of the tank and have mating seams that are mechanically jointed (folded). These mating seams secure the panels to the tank, reduce moisture ingress, have superior bend resistance, expand and contract easily.
- Compared to conventional systems, TracLoc offers a higher rigidity, reduced moisture ingress and minimized under-insulation corrosion. It is maintenance-free and available in various materials and configurations to conform to industry standards or aesthetics.
- Installing conventional insulation systems can be time-consuming and costly. The TracLoc system consists of a continuous 360° interlocking seam, eliminating the need for external bands and screws. Total installed cost (TIC) is significantly reduced because the system does not require scaffolding during installation. This drastically shortens the project schedule and increases overall site safety.
BENEFITS
- Easy to Install: With pre-fabricated insulation panels and modular installation techniques, there is no need for scaffolding. This helps to reduce the time necessary to install drastically while improving the safety of personnel.
- Robust without compromising aesthetics: The unique TracLoc interlock panel system provides a robust homogenous jacket that reduces moisture ingress, has superior wind resistance, and has inherent contraction/expansion properties
- Reduce Energy Usage: By using closed cell insulation materials, the insulation properties remain constant over time, minimizing energy losses and improving the efficiency of the system. Fire Rated Wiring
Fire Rated Wiring
PROTECT CRITICAL CIRCUITS IN CASE OF FIRE
Worldwide regulations require fire protection for emergency feeder circuits in commercial buildings, public spaces, hospitals, industrial plants and refineries. Critical equipment and processes must continue to operate during an emergency to minimize damage and protect lives.
SETTING THE STANDARD IN FIRE SAFETY
Historically, fire safety of critical circuits was achieved by running conventional cables behind a heat barrier such as a gypsum board or hollow concrete block; or by embedding the conductors in concrete.
nVent PYROTENAX mineral insulated fire-rated cables are UL listed and can withstand temperatures up to 1850°F (1010°C) for two hours. This built-in fire resistance provides greater protection as opposed to the fire-rating of conventional cables which require heat barrier systems.
MINERAL INSULATED TECHNOLOGY
nVent’s PYROTENAX mineral insulated fire rated cable offers a unique combination of dependability, versatility and performance. Highly compacted magnesium oxide insulation provides exceptional temperature and electrical performance. This inorganic and inherently fire resistant construction features:
- zero smoke
- zero flame spread
- Integrated control panels
- zero fuel contribution
BENEFITS
MEETS GLOBAL CODES AND STANDARDS
- As codes increasingly call for two hour fire resistance, the demand for a more costly and more complex construction for adequate protection of conventional cables. PYROTENAX fire-rated cables have built-in fire resistance and do not require a fire barrier.
DURABLE AND LONG LASTING
-
- PYROTENAX cables have a proven track record, with millions of feet installed globally. PYROTENAX cables are:
- Fireproof
- Inherently a flameproof barrier

nVent RAYCHEM process heating solutions replace heat loss in a pipe anywhere throughout the industrial process, no matter the application. This allows you to cost-effectively transport fluids from one location to another, safely start and shut down production operations and execute processes at maximum efficiency.
Typical applications include:
- Fuel oil, asphalt, sulphur, waxes, hydraulics
- Caustic soda, acids, polymers, sensitive chemicals
- Vegetable oils, biodiesel, fat, syrup, chocolate
