Helping EPC’s to Exceed Client’s Expectations

A Florida-based EPC (Engineering, Procurement & Construction) firm, was approached by a producer of wine and spirits from the west coast to have them build an additional facility on the east coast. They chose this EPC, not just because of their experience and capabilities, but also because they are known for speed. The EPC may not be the least expensive choice to engineer and build a new facility, but they excel in finding efficiencies, leveraging resources, etc. to minimize the amount of time from when the first shovel goes into the ground to when the product starts to leave the warehouse.

TriNova Application Engineer Lacey Brugier and Account Manager Cory Olson have helped the EPC’s Process Automation Group specify instrumentation on several projects over time. On this most recent project for the wine and spirits producer, we introduced Endress + Hauser’s MIV (Main Instrument Vendor) Program as a tool to help them keep moving fast. Our offering was to take on the procurement, receiving, inspection, pre-configuration, staging, and ultimately field commissioning of all instrumentation; no matter the brand or manufacturer. The EPC agreed that, by hiring E+H/TriNova, much time would be freed up for their people to keep driving the project in other areas. This resulted in a MIV contract from the EPC for $615,000 for a start. Currently, we are in discussions for adding valves and spares which could increase the value to $800k. Our partner E+H is living up to expectations with their Project Manager in almost daily contact with the EPC to keep things moving forward.

We are already in MIV discussions for near future projects involving two spirit manufacturers, a snack food producer, and a global coffee company. TriNova is well-positioned via E+H’s MIV Program to help the EPC go fast, for a long time to come.
