The prime purpose of paddle type orifice plates is flow measurement using differential pressure to determine the flow. As a fixed geometry device, it is extremely reliable as there are no moving parts leading to efficient longevity. These orifice plates are also used for pressure restriction and choked/critical flow giving fool-proof safety protection of critical systems and equipment. AVCO carries a full range of paddle type orifice plates designed for use between ANSI flanges up to class 2500. These plates can be supplied with standard finish for use with raised face flanges with an option for 125 RMS finish for spiral wound gaskets or for use with RTJ flanges. The plates are precision machined to meet the stringent requirements of ASME MFC-3M, AGA 3 and ISO 5167-2 and are available in sizes from 2” thru 24”. We also offer sizes ½” thru 1 ½” which are primarily for use with honed flow tubes and meet ASME MFC-14M. Various plate styles are available including: standard concentric, counterbore, eccentric, quadrant bored and segmental orifice plates to cover all types of fluid flow.
